Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Portrait

Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Portrait

I have painted several portraits for my client over the years.  She has such beautiful dogs. My client wanted the portrait to be in the same style as the others.  Head and neck centered in the middle of the canvas and framed in a dark wood frame with a cream mount.

Recently I have been taking work in progress photos of my pastel and oil portraits, which I can share with my clients to show how their portrait is progressing, and also be able to share on my blog.

The pastel portrait of Polly the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel was to be a surprise gift.  The client kindly sent me a photo of the painting being received.  The other dogs seemed to like it too! The frame compliments the painting beautifully.

Here are the lovely comments I received by email after the painting was presented.

Hi Lorraine,

I just wanted to thank you for the beautiful portrait of Polly. Dave opened it today and we both saw it for the first time together as I hadn’t took it from the bubble wrapping before I gift wrapped it. How I managed to resist taking a peek I still don’t know! You have managed to capture her perfectly and Dave was so thrilled with it. It will hang proudly with her big sister Ellie.

Thank you once again.
