Happy New Year 2019
Wishing all my past, present and future clients to come, a very Happy New Year!
I hope you all have had a wonderful Christmas. I have spent a lovely Christmas with my family and friends and eaten way too much!!
2018 was a wonderful year. I had some wonderful dogs, cats and horses to paint in Pastels and in Oils.
I haven’t been able to blog much the last few months as my commissions were to be Christmas presents and I didn’t want the recipient to stumble across my website and see their portrait of their dog, cat or horse. So i’ve been a little quiet on the blogging front. In the coming weeks I shall be adding lots of work in progress blogs of the portraits I had been working on over the last few months. So do check back again to see them.
The last Christmas portrait of the year was a beautiful Chocolate Labrador in pastels called Molly. I shall be doing a blog on Molly’s portrait later this week.
website re-design
Earlier in the year I had my website completely re-designed. The old version was over 20 years old and was in need of updating. It needed to be mobile friendly and although it very much served it’s purpose the last 20 years, I felt it needed to have a fresh look to showcase my work better. I contacted Gary Box from Arwen Web Design. He was so helpful with advice on what I needed and put together a brand new website. I had slipped in rankings on google with the old site and found clients were finding it more difficult to find me. Now with my brand new website I am back on page one in google search results thanks to Arwen Web Design. I really do recommend Gary.
Clients feedback
It’s been lovely to get client feedback when they receive their pet portrait. I have even been sent photos of the recipient receiving their gift of their painting. The photo I show here is of Polly a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. It is the second portrait I have painted for this client. She wanted the portrait to be painted in the same style as the other painting and framed the same. She kindly sent me a photo of the portrait of Polly being received and the other dogs in the house looked impressed too!

Hi Lorraine,
I just wanted to thank you for the beautiful portrait of Polly.
Dave opened it today and we both saw it for the first time together as I hadn’t took it from the bubble wrapping before I gift wrapped it.
How I managed to resist taking a peek I still don’t know !
You have managed to capture her perfectly and Dave was so thrilled with it.
It will hang proudly with her big sister Ellie.
Thank you once again.
Pet portraits over the coming weeks
Now the Christmas celebrations are over, I am looking forward to getting back to painting my pet portraits. This week I shall be starting an oil painting of a Rottweiler dog and than a pastel of a cat. I have several oils and pastels booked in and I am really looking forward to starting them.
If you would like to discuss a pet portrait, please feel free to contact me and I will gladly advise you.
